DateFormatting ReadMe.txt

DateFormatting consists of two FileMaker files:
DateFormatting_EU.fmp12
DateFormatting_USA.fmp12

These files have been created using different system settings and locales. The behave differently, when creating and displaying calendar dates.

At the time a file is created or a clone is opened, FileMaker sets the locale of your system into the file. This locale defines how dates are displayed.

Example:
10/04/2026 = 10th of April 2026 in Europe (DAY/MONTH/YEAR).
10/04/2026 = 4th of October 2026 in the US (MONTH/DAY/YEAR).

If you create FileMaker solutions that are used all over the world, it is important to realize these differences and know how to deal with them.
